Hilllooo!
I am Briony, a storyteller in words and pictures from the UK. For a lot of my life, I’ve been a teacher of young children and have seen the power stories have in expanding their minds and giving them a window to a wider world.
I love to escape to a world full of magic, mystery and a sprinkling of eerie. My dream places to live would be Moominland or Count Duckula’s Transylvanian castle and I welcome the idea of a mischievous imp or spooky ghost coming for tea.
To make my illustrations, I use a range of techniques and mediums. I create textured papers using various painting and printing techniques for use in traditional and digital collage. I also love to dabble in gouache, pencil and neocolour crayon. I’m an avid tea drinker and listener to audiobooks (mostly historical) while I play and create. When I’m not in my studio, I can be found in a vintage shop, the garden or roaming around the countryside on the lookout for birds, butterflies and pixies.
